How to Join Phi Theta Kappa
​Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an honor society dedicated to recognizing and celebrating academic excellence among community college students. If you meet the eligibility requirements and are interested in joining, follow these steps to become a member:

Check Your Eligibility

GPA Requirement: Ensure you have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Even if you’ve made the Dean’s List, confirm your GPA through e-services or by meeting with your advisor.

Credit Requirement: You need at least 12 college-level credits (courses with a 1000+ code). Courses below this level do not count towards eligibility.
Look for Your Invitation

Check your email, including your spam folder, and your physical mailbox for your invitation. If you believe you meet the criteria but haven't received an invitation, contact Normandale’s PTK advisors.
Submit Your Application

Visit join.ptk.org before the listed deadline.

Enter your unique invitation passcode or the email address where your invitation was received.

Complete the form and create your login.

Pay a one-time fee of $95. If you need financial assistance, please speak with the PTK advisors on campus.
Attend the Induction Ceremony

Celebrate your achievements and the start of your journey with PTK by attending the next Induction Ceremony. Invite your family and friends to join the celebration!

Once you’ve completed these steps, you’re officially a member of Phi Theta Kappa! Stay tuned for information about other ceremonies throughout the year, like the Golden Apple Ceremony where you can nominate a professor who made a significant impact on you.
