Meet The Team - Ebenezer Woldu

Meet Ebenezer Woldu, our 2024-25 Vice President of Finance! 🪙

What’s the most important financial lesson you’ve learned in PTK?

"One of the most valuable financial lessons I've learned through PTK is the importance of proactive planning and budgeting. When organizing events, I've found it crucial to overestimate costs to ensure financial flexibility. On a personal level, I now consistently create a weekly budget, aiming to increase my savings incrementally each week. This approach has not only improved my financial discipline but also helped me build a stronger financial cushion for unforeseen expenses."

How do you approach decision-making to benefit the chapter as a whole?

"As the Vice President of Finance, my approach to decision-making for the chapter is rooted in ensuring financial fairness and transparency. I focus on making decisions that are data-driven and financially sound. My goal is to allocate resources in a way that maximizes the chapter’s overall benefit while staying within budgetary constraints. This ensures that each committee operates efficiently without overspending, ultimately helping the chapter thrive without compromising its financial stability."

What leadership qualities do you bring to your role as VP of Finance?

"The leadership qualities I bring to my role include strong organization and problem-solving skills. Managing multiple Excel sheets can become complex, but my organizational abilities ensure that everything is tracked efficiently. Additionally, handling the chapter’s finances often presents challenges, especially when balancing peers' requests with the available resources. My problem-solving skills allow me to navigate these situations thoughtfully, ensuring that decisions are made with both fairness and financial responsibility in mind."
